The acreage is densely wooded  with rocky ridges and a large meadow to delight bushwalkers.   There are plenty of wild animals about, including wallabies, deer, echidnas, wombats and possum.
The open-plan house with attached garage has a large bedroom suite furnished with a queen and single bed.  It was designed for year-round use with a wood stove supplemented by electric panel heaters in the bedroom.
A full kitchen with microwave and dishwasher, laundry facilities, an indoor soaking tub and many other amenities make it easy on non-fishing partners.
Note:  A smaller, simpler fishing shack (also fully self-contained and available to rent) is located about 50 meters from the house.  Click here for more information about the shack.

Fishing on Arthurs Lake in Tasmania's Central Highlands
Arthurs Lake Retreat offers luxurious, self-contained accommodation on 70 secluded lakefront acres in Tasmania's central highlands.
The most prolific and popular of Tasmania's legendary inland fisheries, Arthurs Lake ranks as one of the world's premier trout-fishing destinations.  Arthurs Lake Retreat is ideally located on the shores of Tea Tree Bay in the lake's protected southwest corner.
The property is less than 1-1/2 hours drive from Launceston and Hobart, with easy access to boat launches on Arthurs Lake (<5km), Woods Lake, Penstock Lagoon, Great Lake and Little Pine Lagoon.
A .5 km four-wheel-drive track between the house and the lake serves as a private launching area when lake-levels permit.
